> An overview of my current technology setup

## Development Tools

I love to [keep things simple](/blog/default-settings) and avoid using too many tools.

- [Cursor](https://cursor.com) – I use this temporarily because I got a free coupon. I might go back to VS Code.
- [GitHub Desktop](https://github.com/apps/desktop) – Don't judge me, I like GUIs.
- [Orbstack](https://orbstack.dev/) – A fast and light alternative to Docker Desktop.
- [Httpie](https://httpie.io) – I replaced Postman and cURL with this.
- [bb](https://getbb.app) – Where I run my agents, using either [Pi](https://pi.dev) or [Codex CLI](https://github.com/openai/codex) as the harness.

## Hardware

My work setup is portable enough to fit in one bag. I mostly type on the laptop.

- **MacBook Air M4** – My main workstation.
- [Keychron K3 Max](https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k3-max-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard) – I rarely use this unless I'm stationary. I just like typing on the MacBook more.
- [ProtoArc EM15](https://www.protoarc.com/products/em15-usb-c-wireless-mouse) – I have a bad record with mice (no pun intended). A lot of them just break. This is my third since 2025.
- **AirPods Pro 3** – The noise canceling is soooo good, but they [beep a lot](https://www.reddit.com/r/airpods/comments/1iq6kbu/airpods_pro_chiming_when_connected_to_android/) just because I use Android. I might replace them in the future.
- **POCO X8 Pro Max** – I like Android because it's hackable, and it doesn't have a bad keyboard like the iPhone.
- **Xiaomi Band 10** – I'm bad at tracking time and hate phone timers. Didn't like digital watches, but this grew on me.

## Productivity App

Things that keep me functioning.

- [Todoist](https://todoist.com) – My to-do list. I like it because it doesn't have many features.
- [Notion](https://www.notion.com) – Notes and docs that need more room than a to-do.
- [Memos](https://www.usememos.com) – Quick notes. I host this one myself.

## Self-Hosted App

I mostly use [Oracle Cloud Free Tier](https://www.oracle.com/cloud/free/) for hosting. I try to avoid self-hosting because it's too much hassle to manage. I only do it if it's really, really worth it.

- [Meshflare](/experiments/meshflare) – To manage my Cloudflare because I hate their dashboard.
- [Usagi](/experiments/usagi) – To track usage and quotas across my AI accounts.
- [n8n](https://n8n.io) – To automate things, and to make a quick MCP without writing code.
- [Memos](https://www.usememos.com) – Notes, hosted myself.
- [CLIProxyAPI](https://github.com/router-for-me/CLIProxyAPI) – A local proxy for CLI model accounts.
